Trombone Shorty & the Jamie McLean band @ The Warehouse at FTC 1 October 2016

Hey all! Last night, we took it to FTC's The Warehouse to catch Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue play some raging funk rock fusion. From beginning to end, the energy of the band and crowd was through the roof. The ensemble consisted of guitar, bass, drums, baritone and tenor sax, and of course the trombone/trumpet/vocals/tambourine supplied by Trombone Shorty.  The band interacted with the crowd, jumped around, and generally had a good time. We did too.

The opening act was the Jamie McLean Band, who played with more of a country-blues feel.

That's all for now! Peace love and tortilla chips.

Greensky Bluegrass w/ Cabinet @ The Capitol Theater, 17 Sept 2016

Hey readers! Even though it's been a while, I've been catching more live music than ever these days. Most recently, I saw a barn burner of a Greensky Bluegrass show at the Capitol Theater. Cabinet opened the show with a meaty first set.

During set break, I went to Garcia's to check out Lego Jerry.

There's all sorts of Garcia-related memorabilia there. I love this photo of Jerry in his Nudie suit that hangs on the left side of the bar:
Greensky played a two-set show featuring mostly originals and a few covers, like the sweet Cassidy > Other One > Cassidy to open the second set.

I love waltzing out of the Cap after a good show and getting caught in the interesting post-show music at Garcia's. It doesn't happen every time, so whenever it does, it's a good opportunity to get some extra dancing in before the night comes to a close.

I'm not sure I ever learned the name of this group, and I certainly can't recall now. So mystery duo, who are you?

Until next time! Hope you enjoyed the photodiary. Hoping to post more soon!
